When talking about Silent Servant music, we should also talk about his role as musician and art director of the Sandwell District collective, started by Regis and Female, but also about the Jealous God label, started by Silent Servant himself and by Regis and James Ruskin.
Besides these experiences, together with Santiago Salazar, the artist has created the label Historia y Violencia, and has released music with labels such as Hospital Productions, Semantica Records, L.I.E.S. Records, Bite Records, and now Tresor, with which he has just released his last one. In Memoriam is a particular tribute to the history of techno and of electro music.
Undoubtedly, Silent Servant should be considered an innovator that, with his sound, has played a relevant role in the hybridization of the most minimal techno with post-punk, dub and also modern classical music.
In Memoriam includes four songs, each paying an homage to the typical techno and electro sound of specific years: M-87 to 1987, M-90 to 1990, M-99 to 1999 and M-00 to 2000. The songs have been made as if they were made during those years, but with a modern sound and with the touch of the artist.
Since 2006, along almost twenty years, Silent Servant has released 50 releases and, despite this, he still demonstrates to have something to say with his music, also to the younger generations. This new release on Tresor is an eloquent demonstration of this.
