Golpe Erotico is the industrial noise/experimental project of an Argentinian female artist and producer, who offers us a ritualistic journey made of the amalgamation of power electronics, rhythmic noise. minimal industrial soundscapes. The project appeared on compilations such as Ghosts Of Tomorrow (Last Europa Kiss, 2018) and Meta Moto II (Meta Moto,2018), and now its proper debut Instrumentos De Defensa is released on the Italian independent label Last Europa Kiss.
This 6-track cassette showcases a music world made of abrasive sounds, distorted lines, sharp vocal deliveries, mixing militaristic elements and ritualistic noise-mantras. The result recalls the experiments of the past, especially the 70’s and early 80’s, but with a modern edge, using together different genres and motifs. Unpredictable patterns and hypnotizing structures guide us among dense atmospheres and enthralling soundscapes.
Nectar welcomes us with its static lines and distant female vocals, while an engaging rhythmic mantra takes us by surprise. Syncopated structures and shrilling effects conjure an eerie atmosphere enriched by compulsive bass sounds and stark drums. Pisando a la serpiente employs lo-fi sounds and throbbing bass-lines, evoking an ominous track with sudden distortions and irregular structures. Disturbances and shrilling elements translate a world full sonic chaos and abrasive experimentation, a sort of “broken song”.
Vampiros y tesoros starts as a bombastic number with droning bass sounds and distorted kicks, a malevolent march with diaphanous soundscapes and dark ambient undertones, upon which rhythmic patterns are layered. A ritualistic nature engulfs the track, fusing militant obsession and ominous passage, and after the second half we find a more ambient-oriented direction. Verdad desnuda (999) is a noise pastiche with numbing sounds and tribal rhythms, a communion of atavistic qualities and modern chaotic forces. The episode evolves into a rhythmic affair with obsessive percussions, ending its path in a very strange way.
Racismo alimenticio mixes noise elements and urban syncopated rhythms, in a sort of mutation of d’n’b and hip-hop sounds. Snare drums and cymbals conquer the scene, while a militan sampled voice perfectly complete the track. Circulo de espinas showcases dark arpeggiators, then it employs slow rhythms and disorienting atmospheres. The episode is highly experimental, reminding us of the adventurous side of underground witch house thanks to its distant female vocals and oniric atmospheres.
A peculiar work made of anti-songs with anti-structures, following no rules or guides. Sometime the tracks change their course in a wayward way, while others show strange structures where they are interrupted by sudden distortions and noises. At the same time, this is not a traditional power electronics or noise output, following a very personal muse without clear boundaries. We highly recommend this work to everyone wanting something new, but rooted in industrial sounds and ethos.
